    Give Items How You Can Help A gift in-kind is direct, tangible support for our participants. In July, we collect backpacks and supplies for school-age children; in November, toys and games for our kids; and throughout the year, we collect non-perishable food items for basic needs.     Intact Family Services How We Help Intact Family Services provides intensive services to keep families together and children safe. With the support of a case worker, families build a strength-based plan to stabilize their family over the course of six months. Our Approach We believe that every family is capable of positive change and believe in the right of every family to receive services that are non-judgmental, respectful, and professional. Our caseworkers work alongside our families to collaboratively find solutions that work. We respect all cultures and have one of the largest bilingual English/Spanish teams in Illinois. "The Intact program helped me so much with understanding a lot with my kids and helping with myself. My caseworker was the best. She helped me so much, always checked up on my kids and myself, and even helped my grandma. She always had an amazing vibe when she came by. We really appreciate her so much." - Program Participant Referrals All referrals for this program come from the Department of Children and Family Services. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, please call 800-25-ABUSE (800-252-2873).     After School Programs Art Club Dontay Lockett The Art Program focuses on perfecting students craft around a variety of projects and freestyle days. We also watch anime to influence and inspire our projects. Club meets every Tuesday/Thursday at 3:30 pm and on Friday at 12:30 pm. Culinary Club Demia Fisher Culinary Club is a student-driven cooking apprenticeship provided to expose teens to a home and commercial kitchen environment. The students learn the art of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation. They get to plan, prepare, cook, and present a full course meal. Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:45 pm to 6:15 pm. Meet The Teacher Gaming Club Jemina Lyle Do you like games? Well, this is the place for you! We play video games, board games, card games and whatever other games there are to play. Club meets every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 pm - 6 pm. Organizer: Damian Arevalo Meet The Teacher Music Studio Demiyon Eastling The Music Studio is a music club where students get instructions on how to play instruments, use equipment and create good music. Our recording booth allows students to record their work and express themselves. Club meets every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:25 pm - 5 pm. FiTT Club Tiana Thomas Get FiTT is a club designed to teach students about health and fitness. We invited the students to try various types of workouts that include aerobics, yoga, and outdoor sports. Club meets every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Meet The Teacher Nail Tech Club Jemina Lyle Students meet and work on both live and model hands on the proper techniques and practices of the nail industry. We have now partnered with a local small business owner to help mentor/coach students through the process of providing quality manicures with or without acrylic.     Will & Estate Gifts How You Can Help Leaving a gift in your will or through your estate plan is an incredibly meaningful way to leave a legacy of impact for those most vulnerable among us. It’s possible for anyone, no matter your estate size to leave a gift. There are also tangible benefits, such as reducing your estate tax or income tax for your heirs. The three easiest ways to make a legacy gift are through your: Will Life Insurance Retirement Plan Leaving a Legacy with Your Will A gift left in a will or estate plan is often called a bequest. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift for Association House of Chicago. This could be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the balance or residue of your estate. You retain control of your assets during your lifetime and can change your mind or modify your gift if circumstances change. For recommended language, download our bequest language guide . Bequest gifts are fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes, and there is no limit on the deduction your estate can claim. Sample Language Leaving a Legacy with Your Life Insurance You can name Association House as a primary or contingent beneficiary of your life insurance policy. You retain control and can change your mind or modify your gift if circumstances change. This gift type is ideal for someone whose family no longer needs the protection offered by life insurance.     Drop-In Center How We Help The Drop-in Center provides a safe and comfortable peer-led gathering place for adults in our mental health programs, and for those who are transitioning from life in a nursing facility to life in the community. This is a place free from stigma and judgment. Here, we build support and connection. What To Expect Group activities such as field trips to area attractions, walks in the park, family movie nights, and holiday celebrations. ​ Opportunities for personal growth through life skills groups, peer leadership, and meditation. ​ Drop-in access to the TV room, reading room, game room, arts, and computers.
