    < Back Marketing Clerk (Part-time, 20 Hours/Week) Apply Now Job Type Part Time About the Role As Marketing Clerk, you will work with the Marketing team to develop internal and external marketing materials, campaigns, and events that elevate Association House’s profile and engage potential participants, partners, and donors. As Clerk, you serve as the team lead for administrative functions. Requirements AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Marketing, Communications & Outreach - 30% 1. Assist in regular bilingual English/Spanish content creation for internal and external marketing materials, campaigns, and events. 2. Work with Development team and Marketing team on annual development marketing projects, including Annual Report and the Back 2 School, Giving Tuesday, and Year-end appeals. 3. Assist in community outreach efforts in Humboldt Park and surrounding neighborhoods through canvassing, attending fairs and other activities that promote awareness of Association House, as needed. 4. Special projects, as assigned. Administration – 50% 1. Attend weekly department meetings and periodic program meetings. 2. Monitor shared department email and forward inquiries to appropriate parties. 3. Monitor and update audiences for monthly newsletters and dedicated e-blasts. 4. Maintain department expense tracker. 5. Allocate all credit card expenses in Financial Edge semi-monthly. 6. Generate payment requests in Financial Edge weekly. 7. Other related duties, as assigned. Event Planning & Execution – 15% 1. Assist Marketing Manager in event design, planning, and execution of annual Faces of Hope gala. 2. Monitor event-planning timelines and coordinate task completion across team. 3. Work with vendors to get bids for needed services and/or items. 4. Represent the agency at occasional events, including donor and community outreach events. Professional Development – 5% 1. Accept feedback and implement it into practice on a consistent basis. 2. Attend a minimum of 2 hours of training annually related to the position. 3. Shares information obtained at trainings and seminars with other staff members. COMPETENCIES 1. Able to use a computer and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn role-specific tools, including Canva, Wix, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Suite. 2. Able to check own work for errors to produce neat, accurate documents in a timely manner. 3. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 4. Able to ask for assistance in difficult circumstances or with work projects that are unclear. 5. Able to follow instructions and prioritize work projects.   • Tom Mathews | Association House

    < Back Tom Mathews Director of Facilities Tom manages the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment of Association House’s 153,000 square foot community center and three residential locations. He assures safe and efficient operations and meets agency, accreditation, funder, State Fire Marshall and Department of Building standards. His background includes thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems including computerized building automation and energy management systems. Tom loves his work at Association House, enjoys helping to make a difference, and is happy to be an integral part of the leadership to continue our mission. Prior to Association House, Tom served as the Operations Manager at AvAirPros serving Midway Airport where he was responsible for maintenance, contracts, operations, and general day-to-day interactions of various operational equipment and facilities systems. In 2005, he adopted his youngest daughter from China. Recently, his eldest daughter has blessed him with two granddaughters. Tom holds a certification in HVAC, a universal refrigeration license, and a stationary engineer license and a Bachelors of Science degree from Southern Illinois University’s College of Engineering. Finally, he has a certificate in e-Business Strategy from University of Chicago. ​ ​

    < Back Emily Marion Director of Behavioral Health Serving first as a clinician, Emily came to Association House to counsel youth and adults. Since that time, she has been a Supervisor of the Community Support Team (CST), Supervisor of Community Reintegration and Support, and most recently, the Williams Quality Administrator, working with team-based intensive case management programs, including transitioning participants from institutional psychiatric care to independent living in the community. Currently as Director of Behavioral Health, she oversees the mental health programs, substance abuse services, and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Emily began her career in clinical services as an intern at the International Children’s Center through Heartland Alliance assisting mostly Central American children, and as a human rights intern through a University of Chicago- placement at Casa Alianza in Guatemala City on the Family Reintegration team. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration. Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Emily has lived the past 15 years in multiple Chicago neighborhoods. She’s proud to be a part of the team at one of Chicago’s original settlement houses and enjoys working across diverse cultures and collaborative service disciplines, while empowering, advocating for, accompanying, supporting, and learning from Association House participants. Emily enjoys dancing, camping and gardening and rooting for the Chicago White Sox. ​ ​

I oversee community health education and intervention initiatives, as well as workforce development and technology training programs. I have over seven years of experience developing and implementing programs to assist underserved, racial and ethnic minority, and at-risk urban populations. I also hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Spertus Institute. What about your work inspires you? I strongly believe that Association House continues in the settlement house tradition of working toward a healthier community. I am proud and inspired to work with a dedicated team, who work to empower and elevate residents in areas of education, mental health, and employment. What's a fun fact about yourself?
