    < Back Juan Carlos Linares President and CEO Juan Carlos Linares is the President and CEO of Association House of Chicago, where he is inspired by the team’s dedication to serving the thousands of participants that rely on the House annually, and its 124-years history in stabilizing the lives, households, and communities it serves. Born in the Humboldt Park community and raised in Bellwood, Juan Carlos is an attorney and has held leadership in nonprofit, government, and civic roles over his 21-year career, and is also a part-time educator. From a mixed-immigrant household– his mother from Peru and his father from Guatemala– Juan Carlos himself participated in social service programs, sustained in his youth through food pantries and attending bilingual early education programs. These experiences motivate Juan Carlos to lead the House in celebrating its history, fostering its growth, and serving its communities toward strong, stable, and equitable futures. ​ ​

    < Back Pat Brown ​ Pat attended University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and received her Master’s in Journalism. She also holds a certificate from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business for completing the Ellen Gabriel Fellows Leadership Development Program. Before retiring, Pat was the Executive Accelerators Managing Director at Deloitte. She also served as the Deputy Global Research Director for the CFO Program and is a facilitator for the program’s CFO Transition Lab™. Prior to joining Deloitte, Pat held various communications and marketing positions with other professional services firms and financial institutions. In those roles, she supported a range of practice areas and business development, working at local, national, and global levels. ​ ​

For over a decade, I have provided health, nutrition, and mental health education throughout the Chicago land area, primarily in Chicago communities that are affected by alarming health disparities. As the Supervisor of Community Health programs, we work towards cultivating communities to develop more supportive attitudes and behaviors toward health and mental wellness. What about your work inspires you? I am driven by a passion for strengthening community relationships and partnerships that reinforce and sustain the execution of a social mission and realization of community vision. I have taught art to ages K-12 for 11 years, high school visual art for the last 7 years. I am also a certified yoga teacher and (small) art gallery owner. What inspires you as a member of the AHHS team? Helping provide life changing, mind opening, community buidling expereinces for students of all walks of life, through the arts and exploring passions. I love to see students find a niche and explore it, as well as grow as humans with a more well rounded palette of diverse knowledge. I think all students deserve chances, programs and education. In this pivotal role, he brings strategic vision, innovative solutions, and a commitment to quality that aligns seamlessly with Northern Trust's mission. Subhadeep’s journey in the financial services sector began at Accenture, where he played a pivotal role in building technology capabilities for various financial institutions. His contributions laid the foundation for transformative change, positioning these organizations for success in the digital era. His tenure at Accenture honed his skills in technology strategy, project management, and client relations. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Subhadeep held key positions at Bank of America, where he made substantial contributions to both the retail and investment banking portfolios. His multifaceted experience in these roles equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse challenges and opportunities in the financial services landscape. He acted as a financial Chair for Asia leadership network while at Bank of America , He serves as a valued member of a product startup advisory board, where he leverages his expertise to guide emerging companies towards growth and sustainability. Subhadeep is actively pursuing opportunities to contribute to the community as a member of non-profit boards of directors in the Chicagoland area, after completion of a certification on Non Profit Board from Kellogg school of management. In his leisure time, Subhadeep finds solace and enjoyment in various pursuits. He is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about cricket and soccer. He frequently engages in pick-up games with friends, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition. Subhadeep also has a culinary flair and delights in preparing delicious meals for his family and friends, bringing people together through the joy of food. Why I Serve? Subhadeep is proud to be associated with an organization that is engaged with the community in such wide variety of services that bring a long lasting impact to the community. Ryan earned his bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Accounting and is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society. In his free time, Ryan enjoys watching and playing sports, traveling and spending time with his wife and three children. Why I Serve?     < Back Vachon Harper-Young ​ Vachon Harper-Young is Senior Manager of Industry Verticals and Co-Head of BMO for Women, Black, Latinx and Native-owned Businesses which is currently a $300 million, five- year commitment to advancing an inclusive economic recovery through access to capital, free training and resources and organization partnerships. Vachon was responsible for launching the program in November 2020, developing and delivering business acumen training and collaborating with non-profits and government agencies that compliment the programs goals. She has been in banking for nearly 30 years in a variety of sales and management roles. Vachon earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Communications from Illinois State University and a MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. Why I Serve Cindy Ullrich who I worked with for a number of years at BMO introduced me to the Association House first through a invitation to the annual gala. I was so amazed with the depth of services offered and the many life changing success stories that when Cindy asked if I would serve on the gala committee I immediately said yes. I believe it has been nearly 10 years ago and without hesitation participated every year. I am honored to serve as a AHC board member. ​ ​
