Occupational Therapist

About the Role

Provides occupational therapy services to class members with a wide range of medical, psychiatric and intellectual complexities. Consults with collateral contacts involved in class member’s care, including nursing facility staff, member’s family / natural support system, medical and other providers. Completes assessments and provides treatment to class members to help improve, regain, and develop skills needed for daily living. Treatment services provided on-site at area nursing facilities and in class member homes. Treatment will focus on community mobility and integration, cognitive processes, support with engagement in IADLs/ADLs, hygiene/self-care routines, sensory processing, safety with transfers, fall prevention and adaptive equipment to increase safety and independence

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy curriculum with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree or graduation from an accredited college/university with a related major and completion of a certificate program in Occupational Therapy.  

  • 1 year working with individuals with serious mental illness preferred.  Experience working with persons with developmental and physical disabilities, mental health and co-occurring disorders required.  

  • Valid Illinois OTR/L Required  

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.  

  • Licensed driver with use of a car, current insurance, a valid driver’s license, and a driving record acceptable to Agency insurance carrier.

  •  Availability to work both on-site and in the field on a full-time basis.
